White Plague by James Abel is a Joe Rush thriller about the rescue of the crew of a damaged American submarine trapped in artic ice. Members of the crew have developed a strange virus. Many have died or are dying. To make matters worse, a Chinese submarine is rushing to the “rescue” with an agenda of stealing the secret technology on the vessel. Joe takes control of the only American icebreaker in the artic and leads an expedition through horrible weather to save the sub and the crew. The book contains interesting characters with differing agendas, which include sabotage, collusion with the Chinese, and slaughter of everyone on the mission to prevent spread of the plague.
