The Enemy by Lee Child

The Enemy by Lee Child is a Jack Reacher novel that goes back to a time before Major Reacher left the army. He is a Military Police officer assigned to investigate the death of a two-star general in a motel in North Carolina. The case becomes complicated when the general’s briefcase is discovered missing and his wife’s body is found at another location. Reacher clashes with officers above him in the chain of commands and uses his brains and his physical strength to uncover serious corruption. I have enjoyed all of the Reacher novels and this was no exception.
