2011 Clan Urquhart Gathering

The 2011 Clan Urquhart Gathering & Tour honoring the 400th anniversary of the birth of The Great Sir Thomas Urquhart of Cromarty takes place July 26 – August 3, 2011. The Cromartie family is a sept of the Urquhart Clan. Attendees will gather at a Glasgow airport hotel on July 26 and travel the next day to Kings College Aberdeen, the Meldrum House, and the town of Turrifff where the first engagement of the Scottish Civil War took place. The next day includes a tour of Banff and Craigston Castle and the night in Inverness. Over the next few days the group will tour Cromarty, the Black Isle, Urquhart Castle, and Glen Urquhart. Beginning August 1, there will be a side trip to the islands of Orkney, the original home of William Cromartie.
